Instead, you are running around as a distinctly Japanese knight, slashing identical looking soldiers and turning them into zombies to fight by your side.
Undead Knights is, at its root, a hack-and-slash. You have your basic weak attack and strong attack, a couple combos, a dodging mechanic, and a wrath gauge that allows you to perform a strong attack combo with invulnerability. The main addition is that you can create and control an army of your enemies that have been turned undead. Undead Knights' frustrating control moments and sometimes dull design elements don't completely outweigh its violent charm. The gruesome, dark premise is slick and the underlying gameplay is definitely enjoyable in short bursts.
